| William's Strengths/Talents |

Age 16
As far back as he can remember, William has always been an artist. When he was three years old, his mother used to take him over to his cousin's house while she went to work. At the time, his cousin was an aspiring artist. In an effort to keep William busy and, at the same time continue working on her art, his cousin would provide him with a sketch pad and pencil. As he sat and watched her sketch, William would try and imitate her every stroke. Seeing as though he was on three years at the time, imitating his cousin was quite difficult and, for the most part, all he knew was how to scribble. As the years professed, William continued on his journey to becoming an artist. His mother recognized his "potential" talent and decided to enroll him in some art classes. She enrolled him in an art studio called, Budding Artiste. William spent approximately five years there and continued to make progress and outgrow the studio and transitioned into Gluck Academy/Renaissance Art School in Palos Verdes, California. Renaissance Art School further developed William's passion for art and he soon began teach art to children in his own art studio and academy as well as honing his skills as a graphic art designer. Currently, William's mom is attending a workshop series held by the El Camino College Small Business Development Center. While attending a workshop session, the director introduced the 2008 Summer Buzz on Biz Academy program and William's mom, Tracie, thought the program would be something he would be interested in. Once William reviewed the materials, he knew for certain the Academy was for him. William is a very unique person and feels that he would greatly benefit by participating in the Academy. As a young artist and future entrepreneur, William believe the 2008 Summer Buzz on Biz Academy can enhance his life for the better. William attends Long Beach Poly High School and is a 4.0 student who loves to work hard. He is always on a continuous journey to learn more and to become the best he can in whatever he does. He feels he still has a lot to learn and the Academy will help him to learn the basics for starting his own business. In addition to learning how to start a successful business, William anticipates learning about obtaining financing and having capital to keep his business going. At the end of the Academy, it is his goal to utilize all the tools to develop his business and take it to market in no time. However, his ultimate goal is to pass on his gift for painting to other young aspiring artists. |
