- Darick J. Simpson is an accomplished Community Leader,
Executive Manager and published author with a very diverse professional
background. His experience includes executive management positions in banking,
community development, entertainment and non-profit organizations. Currently,
he is active as a Project Coordinator with Long Beach City College, a small
business consultant, writer and national Professional Development Educator.
- Success in his role as Chairman of Youth Works in Mobile, Alabama gained Mr.
Simpson recognition on a state and national level. At the request of the
Department of Labor, he participated with a select group of youth
practitioners from around the United States in the Development of the Youth
Council Guide to Creating a Youth Development System Under WIA.
As a motivational speaker, Mr. Simpson engages audiences with an eloquent combination of poetic verse and
relevant facts that are truly inspirational. He has traveled across the United States addressing audiences
from every sector of the community. Mr. Simpson has taught adults and youth entrepreneurial skills through the
development of their own business plans.
Mr. Simpson’s first book was released in January of 2002, entitled Who Will Be There? And his first CD
project of the same title was released in February 2003. Both projects have gained national recognition for
their very unique and sensitive perspectives on unconditional love. Additional manuscripts scheduled for publication
include a children’s book of poetry and a professional development book providing insight to survival in the
corporate workplace.
Mr. Simpson attributes his professional and personal success to good health, working smart and spiritual
guidance. He is a 1992 graduate of Leadership Long Beach, California and a 1999 graduate of Leadership
Mobile, Alabama. He received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Alabama and received a
Masters in Organizational Management, University of Phoenix.
